چکیده
The application of urea-based selective catalytic reduction products (i.e., Urea-SCR) provides a NOx and, therefore, minimizes pollution emissions from vehicles fueled by diesel. Such can be easily found in the market; however, they are often susceptible to adulteration, mainly terms urea content and dilution with non-mineralized water. In this study, we propose simple, low-cost, disposable, straightforward paper-based microfluidic device for quality-control Urea-SCR first time quantifying water hardness simultaneously via colorimetric reactions using small volume sample. 4-(dimethylamino)benzaldehyde Eriochrome T were used as indicators determination, respectively. Each reagent (1.5 µL) was combined 6 µL sample analysis, contributing an expressive waste generation. Digital images µPAD obtained, linear relations between color intensity Ca2+ Mg2+ concentrations range 0.2 1.0% 0.1 3.5 mmol L−1 obtained correlation coefficient higher than 0.99. Recovery experiments employed evaluate accuracy methodology, revealing suitable values 91.5 115%. Brazilian samples acquired different distributors submitted proposed procedure its applicability. devices enables quality control high accuracy, portability, low consumption reagents, no generation toxic residues; thereby green analytical chemistry field.

3D Printed Paper-Based Microfluidic Analytical Devices
As a pump-free and lightweight analytical tool, paper-based microfluidic analytical devices (μPADs) attract more and more interest. If the flow speed of μPAD can be programmed, the analytical sequences could be designed and they will be more popular. This reports presents a novel μPAD, driven by the capillary force of cellulose powder, printed by a desktop three-dimensional (3D) printer, which ...

متن کاملBlood separation on microfluidic paper-based analytical devices.
A microfluidic paper-based analytical device (μPAD) for the separation of blood plasma from whole blood is described. The device can separate plasma from whole blood and quantify plasma proteins in a single step. The μPAD was fabricated using the wax dipping method, and the final device was composed of a blood separation membrane combined with patterned Whatman No.1 paper. Blood separation memb...

We demonstrate the hybridization-induced fluorescence detection of DNA on an origami-based paper analytical device (oPAD). The paper substrate was patterned by wax printing and controlled heating to construct hydrophilic channels and hydrophobic barriers in a three-dimensional fashion. A competitive assay was developed where the analyte, a single-stranded DNA (ssDNA), and a quencher-labeled ssD...
متن کاملHollow-channel paper analytical devices.
We present a microfluidic paper analytical device (μPAD) that relies on flow in hollow channels, rather than through a cellulose network, to transport fluids. The flow rate in hollow channels is 7 times higher than in regular paper channels and can be conveniently controlled from 0 to several mm/s by balancing capillary and pressure forces. More importantly, the pressure of a single drop of liq...
